SUPER STRING workshop hosted by the Revolutionary Knitting Circle at Stride Gallery, 2006

SUPER STRING taps into the collective craft unconscious – the sound of thousands of knitting needles clicking in unison – and the prolific ways in which artists and activists make textiles to connect with each other, recycle, share skills, reclaim space, and revolutionize the world.

SUPER STRING included Cindy Baker, Kris Lindskoog, Mary Anne McTrowe, Allyson Mitchell and the Revolutionary Knitting Circle.

One of the first Canadian exhibitions to bring together craftivist practices, SUPER STRING was reviewed by Kim Fullerton for Canadian Art and Mark Clintberg for FFWD Weekly. The exhibition text, artist bios and descriptions of each work are available as a brochure and PDF from Stride Gallery.
